Atalanta vs Sassuolo – Sassuolo double chance at 11/8 with bet365
After a mixed first season without Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta have turned to Maurizio Sarri. While things are likely to turn out well, Sarri always takes time to get his ideas across.
They have changed formation and could only draw 0-0 with Hapoel Tel Aviv in their Conference League playoff on Thursday.
If they are distracted by next week’s second leg in Hungary, then Sassuolo can take advantage on Sunday.
The Neroverdi returned to Serie A last season and finished 11th, including winning 3-0 in Bergamo. They have also appointed a new coach, Alberto Aquilani, but beat Cesena 3-0 in the Coppa Italia on Monday and could get something at the New Balance Arena.

Newcastle vs Liverpool – Liverpool to win at 9/10 with bet365
New eras in the dugout for both these clubs as Matthias Jaissle and Andoni Iraola face off in the first Super Sunday of the season.
The new Liverpool boss has vital Premier League experience and, indeed, has an 18-game unbeaten stretch from his time at Bournemouth.
Further, Liverpool have won 10 and drawn three of their last 13 season-openers and the Reds have won 14 and drawn five of their last 19 Premier League meetings with Newcastle.
Newcastle have lost key men this summer in Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. Some settling-in time may be required and this is a tough start for the new manager. All the signs point to a Liverpool victory at St James’ Park.

Elche vs Barcelona – Elche or draw double chance at 12/5 with bet365
Barcelona have made some big moves in the transfer market but they will be below full-strength for their season opener at Elche and are far from certain to make a winning start.
Spain internationals Rodri, Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo and Pedri are among the major doubts for Barca as they continue to build up their fitness levels following a hectic summer.
Hansi Flick’s side dominated the division last term, but they may take a while to get fully into their stride and could be frustrated by Elche, who suffered only two home league losses across the whole of the 2025-26 campaign.

Getafe vs Racing Santander – Santander draw no bet at 13/8 with bet365
Newly promoted Racing Santander began life back in La Liga with a credible 2-2 draw against Villarreal and they can follow up with a victory at a Getafe side that may have one eye on the second leg of their Conference League play-off round tie with Partizan.
Getafe won the first leg of that tie 3-1, but they still have work to do for Thursday’s return match in Serbia, while they started their domestic season with a disappointing 3-0 loss at Alaves.
Jose Bordalas’s side lost 17 league games last term – more than relegated Girona – and with their early season focus seemingly on progressing in Europe, Santander could take full advantage.

Rennes vs PSG – Rennes double chance @ 6/4 with bet365
Mixed performances from Paris Saint-Germain post-World Cup appear to offer Rennes a glorious chance of stopping the French champs at Roazhon Park.
If there’s a good time to be playing PSG this is probably it, as the European champions lick their wounds from Sunday’s Champions Trophy loss to Lens and Luis Enrique deals with integrating new signings and managing potential departures.
Rennes were fifth last season, boss Frank Haise has signed a new deal and Ligue 1’s top scorer Esteban Lepaul has enjoyed a prolific pre-season. And Rennes beat Enrique’s giants 3-1 at their Breton bolthole in February.
