Ankalaev has proven to be worthy of his place amongst the 205 elite, but he’s not an elite wrestler like Khabib or Islam, meaning he’ll have to stand with Pereira at some point. That’s a dangerous game.

Pereira’s takedown defense is improving, and he’s shown he can get back up when taken down. Ankalaev, on the other hand, has looked hesitant at times and doesn’t always push the pace.

At 1.80, you’re getting a world-class striker with fight-ending power against a guy who isn’t known for elite grappling. Pereira on the nose is the pick.

Justin Gaethje at 2.25 to win, even with Rafael Fiziev stepping in as a late replacement for Dan Hooker, is serious value.

Gaethje is a proven elite lightweight with leg kicks, a granite chin, and relentless pressure. He’s fought and beaten top-tier competition like Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson, and Michael Chandler, fighters who hit just as hard, if not harder, than Fiziev.

Fiziev is dangerous, no doubt, but he’s stepping in late, which means he might not be in peak condition. Gaethje, on the other hand, has been preparing for a war.

Gaethje already has a decision win over Fiziev back at UFC 286, so this isn’t a case of swimming in untested waters for the Arizona-native.

At 2.25, you’re getting one of the toughest lightweights against a last-minute replacement.

It’s a surprise to see Amanda Lemos priced as an underdog in this women’s strawweight bout against Iasmin Lucindo.

Yes, she is coming off a submission loss to Virna Jandiroba back in July, but she has far more experience at the top level than her counterpart.

A four-fight win streak for Lucindo is impressive on paper, notably a win over Marina Rodriguez back at UFC 307.

Lemos’s only losses in recent years have come against Zhang Weili, Jéssica Andrade, and the aforementioned Jandiroba.

This will prove to be a litmus test for Lucindo, but we’ll air on the side of caution and back the more experienced fighter at odds of 2.10.

This may seem short odds, but it’s a case of one of the best heavyweights in the world going toe-to-toe with a Contender Series alumni.

It’s a tough position for Curtis Blaydes. He’s beaten everyone at heavyweight except those at the very, very top, so now it’s a case of the UFC scrambling to find decent competition at heavyweight.
