Saturday Racing Tips – Dan James Racing
The booking of Oisin Murphy is very eye-catching for the Richard Hughes stable. One of only two winners for his stable at HMarketing aydock and this one has a massive chance. The stable going well is always a plus and although a disappointing ninth on reappearance, he did shape like he badly needed the run.
His fifth before that in a Group 1 was a very good performance and with his seasonal debut under his belt he can progress and win this listed race tomorrow.
This horse has run two very respectable races this season finishing a close second on both occasions. He has a good record at York with a record of 217432 in his last six runs here.
A very consistent type back at a track he loves with a good draw and favourable racing conditions he can win this for the John Quinn yard with his horses running well.
The veteran sprinter Dakota Gold might be flying under the radar, but he’s shown time and time again that he’s not to be underestimated — especially when fresh and on ground that suits.
Now a 10-year-old, he might not be at his explosive peak, but there are still flashes of real quality. He landed a nice win at Ripon in April, showing that the fire still burns bright. That was off a mark of 91 — and although he’s now 4lb higher, this mark still looks within reach, especially with conditions in his favour.
Let’s not forget, this is a horse who’s won at Listed and Group level. He might be into the veteran stages now, but against this Class 3 field, he brings a serious level of experience, toughness and past class that few in this race can match.
