13.50 bet365 Novices’ Championship Final Handicap Hurdle
CANNOCK PARK has two wins and four placed efforts from six starts under rules and must have an outstanding chance on his handicap debut, as should FIERCELY PROUD. He has placed in graded races the last two times and should go well. SECRET SQUIRREL is another one to consider.
Tips: Cannock Park, Fiercely Proud, Secret Squirrel
14.25 bet365 Oaksey Chase (Grade 2)
HITMAN has made the frame numerous times at the highest level, and, with the conditions and the trip to suit, he should be hard to beat on these terms. AL DANCER has been kept fresh for this and should make a bold bid from the front, while the ground will be perfect for EASY GAME.
Tips: Hitman, Al Dancer, Easy Game
15.00 bet365 Celebration Chase (Grade 1)
EL FABIOLO comfortably beat JONBON in the Arkle last season, and although he blew his chance in the Champion Chase last time out after some early mistakes, he should be able to get back on track. Nicky Henderson’s charge is undoubtedly the main danger, though, and he must be shortlisted. This race should be between the pair.
Tips: El Fabiolo, Jonbon
15.35 bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase
MINELLA COCOONER is a former Grade 1 winner and will love the ground. His recent third in the Irish National is good form, and he should be thereabouts under Danny Mullins. Stablemate NICK ROCKETT should be in the mix, while Dan Skelton’s LE MILOS and Henry De Bromhead’s AMIRITE can also be included on the ticket.
Tips: Minella Cocooner, Nick Rockett, Le Milos, Amirite
16.10 bet365 Select Hurdle (Grade 2)
IMPAIRE ET PASSE just got home in front in the Aintree Hurdle last time out, and despite being slightly fortunate, he still has a leading chance being the choice of Paul Townend. Stablemate SIR GERHARD is a former dual winner at the Cheltenham Festival and will appreciate this distance, so he is definitely feared most.
Tips: Impaire Et Passe, Sir Gerhard
16.45 bet365 Josh Gifford Novices’ Handicap Chase
NICKLE BACK is a Grade 1 winner over C&D, and his latest start can be excused. If he’s ridden aggressively, the others might not see which way he’s gone. GLORY AND HONOUR is consistent, though, and he’s well treated off a mark of 129, so he can be added. I think he’s got a better chance than his odds suggest.
Tips: Nickle Back, Glory And Honour
