QPR boss Marti Cifuentes has insisted Rangers cannot afford to get complacent despite extending their unbeaten run to six matches with a battling 1-1 draw at Bristol City last weekend. Paul Smyth’s long-range equaliser earned the R’s a share of the spoils in a match the home side dominated for large swathes at Ashton Gate.

Cifuentes says it is important the club are not fooled by the recent upturn in which his side have climbed off the bottom of the Championship and out of the relegation zone. The Spaniard said, “I’, extremely proud of the guys and the way they work. But the reality is that football is so ruthless we need to keep improving. There is work to be done.”

Ilias Chair again came off the bench as the Moroccan playmaker continues his return to full fitness, whilst Michael Frey was also named amongst the substitutes following his own recovery from injury. QPR are also hoping to be boosted by the return of Jack Colback and Jake Clarke-Salter during the festive program.
