RJ Barrett over 20.5 points vs Cleveland Cavaliers at 5/6
RJ Barrett posted a playoff career-high 33 points in Game 3, and that was the fifth successive game in which he’s scored over 21 points.
The Canadian is thriving in his first playoff series for his hometown side, and the focus which the Cavs are putting on Toronto’s Brandon Ingram is opening up the court for Barrett to impress.
Through three games in the series, Barret has finished with tallies of 24, 22, and 33. His efficient shooting has come from a lack of attention from Cleveland, and they seem content to let him score, preferring to focus their efforts on Ingram and fellow All-Star Scottie Barnes.
Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic is leaning on his starters more and more as this series progresses. Barrett went from 30 minutes in Game 1, to 37 in Game 2 and then 39 in Game 3. Sunday’s matchup is the difference between Toronto returning to Cleveland for Game 5 either level at 2-2, or down 3-1 and facing elimination. Given the make-or-break affair, back those high minutes to continue, with Toronto’s most-proven play-off performer backed to top 20 points once again.
Next-best Double
Luke Kornet 5+ points & Marcus Smart over 1.5 steals at 5/2
The two other options on my list for Sunday’s four-game slate look good as a 5/2, cross-match double. Luke Kornet came through for us earlier in the week with 14 points, but his line has been reduced with Victor Wembanyama potentially returning.
However, Kornet scored 10 points in Game 1 off the bench behind Wembanyama. He’s scored eight or more in seven of his last nine, so he should be able to get to five points regardless of Wemby’s status in Game 4.
Marcus Smart has recorded 10 steals across his last two games against the Rockets, who are running out of trusted ball-handlers. The pressure is cranked up on a Rockets side which is a loss away from elimination, so back Smart to produce another star-turn defensively.
