Post: Paul vs Chavez Jr predictions and tips with 8/1 treble

After a controversial bout with Mike Tyson, Jake Paul is back in action on Saturday night against another big name from the past as he faces off against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr is the son of Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, a true legend of the sport, and he’s had an impressive career of his own having previously held the WBC middleweight title.

However, he hasn’t fought at the top level for some time and Paul comes into the bout as the clear favourite.

I’ve got the headline event covered, details on how to watch and an 8/1 treble for Saturday’s boxing at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Jake Paul could be set for the toughest test of his career this weekend against Chavez Jr. If the Mexican was in his prime, this would be a complete mismatch but Chavez Jr’s last notable victory came way back in 2014 when he outpointed Brian Vera.

In recent years, La Leyenda Continua has campaigned at a lower level and with a 3-3 record over his last six fights he doesn’t look like the fighter he was around a decade ago.

One of Chavez Jr’s defeats during that period was a split decision loss to former UFC fighter Anderson Silva, who then went on to lose to Paul on points and that perhaps gives the best indication of how this contest may play out.

Chavez Jr is the technically superior fighter and he will probably boss the opening rounds, but Paul’s fitness and work rate could swing the contest in his favour if he can survive some early pressure and backing the Problem Child to win by decision looks the best bet.

Floyd Schofield to win by decision or technical decision
Vs Tevin Farmer

Floyd Schofield is working his way towards a world title shot and he should be able to overcome Tevin Farmer, who has lost his last three fights.

Schofield has compiled an 18-0 record and he has an impressive knockout rate but he may have to settle for a points win over veteran Farmer, who hasn’t been stopped since 2012.

Gilberto Ramirez to win in rounds 7-12
Vs Yuniel Dorticos

In the co-main event Gilberto Ramirez defends his title against the heavy handed Yuniel Dorticos.

Dorticos will be incredibly dangerous in the opening exchanges but Zurdo should be able to cope with the Cuban’s pressure before engineering a stoppage of his own in the second half of the contest.
