OUT OF FOCUS reportedly broke a blood vessel when down the field at Catterick, but assuming all is well, he could feature in the outcome on his chase debut. PEP TALKING returned a decisive winner at Huntingdon on his chase debut and is feared, while TRAPISTA is very well treated if he’s able to rediscover last year’s form.
Tips: OUT OF FOCUS, PEP TALKING, TRAPISTA

This is extremely wide-open, but WHYNOTNOWROY has shown enough under rules to suggest he can pick up a prize like this and remains on the same mark as when seasoned at Taunton in his penultimate start. I’ll also recommend ROCKY HILL, who is weighted to turn the latest form around with Another Legend having finished second here last time out.
Tips: WHYNOTNOWROY, ROCKY HILL

THE SCORPION KING made hard work of getting the job done last time out, but once he hit top gear, he won with plenty to spare. He has been hit with a 5Ib rise, but he should have more to come and should be hard to beat. Recent course and distance winner JACK DOYEN is feared most, so he’s included in the shortlist.
Tips: THE SCORPION KING, JACK DOYEN

This could be a fine opportunity for ASK ME ANOTHER to open her account. She outran her odds when third at Taunton last time out, and her handler has been among the winners in recent weeks. Donald McCain’s only runner on the card is hurdle debutant THATSWHATSHESAID, who made a winning start under rules at Newcastle and could go well if her jumping passes the test.
Tips: ASK ME ANOTHER, THATSWHATSHESAID

MAMBO BEAT has yet to really make an impact in three starts over hurdles, but the move into a handicap could prove the difference in what is a weak race. OUR DYLAN has placed several times off higher marks and should be able to capitalise on his reduced mark. He is worth another chance.
Tips: MAMBO BEAT, OUR DYLAN
17.00 Hereford Motor Group Handicap Hurdle
It is hard to see past EL GRANJERO who has made a positive start over hurdles and returned an easy winner at this course two weeks ago. He now makes his handicap debut off a handy mark and won’t mind the return to this longer trip, so he’s the one they all have to beat with more to offer.
Tips: EL GRANJERO
