Tottenham vs Nottingham Forest – Tottenham at 5/4 with bet365

It has been doom and gloom at Tottenham for most of the season and the Londoners remain in huge relegation trouble, but there have been encouraging signs in the last week and they can improve their situation enormously by beating Nottingham Forest.

They went into last week’s trip to Liverpool having lost their previous six matches with a catalogue of injuries, but a deserved 1-1 draw at Anfield showed there are signs of life.

And while their Champions League situation was dire following a 5-2 first-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid, they showed enough fight in a 3-2 win over the Spanish outfit to show they are not set to go down with a whimper.

They can gain only a third home league win of the season against the Tricky Trees, who needed extra-time to see off Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday and have won just one of their last 11 matches inside 90 minutes.

Alex Wrigley

Rennes vs Metz – Rennes over 2.5 team goals at 6/5 with bet365

Rennes are 1/ 3 favourites to get the three points against rock-bottom Metz on Sunday, and they should do so in style against Ligue 1’s leakiest defence.

Metz have shipped 60 goals in 26 games and have averaged 2.85 goals conceded per away game this season. They have conceded three or more goals in four of their last five matches and face a Rennes side that have notched 12 goals in their last five, scoring three or more against PSG, Nice, and Auxerre in this period.

Dan Childs

Aston Villa vs West Ham – West Ham or draw double chance at 4/5 with bet365

West Ham have been beaten just twice in their last 12 matches and can avoid defeat at Villa Park.

Nuno’s side are heading to the West Midlands knowing that a victory would take them out of the drop zone at the expense of either Tottenham or Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers may offer less of a threat without Crysencio Summerville, who is ruled out until after the international break, but they are playing well enough to frustrate Aston Villa, who continued their Europa League adventure on Thursday with a 2-0 victory at home to Lille.

Villa have looked strong on European nights, but they have lost three on the spin in the Premier League and are worth opposing against a highly-motivated and in-form opponent.

Tom Hill

Lyon vs Monaco – Monaco at 6/4 with bet365

Lyon are winless in seven matches in all competitions and they look vulnerable ahead of the visit of Monaco. Only two places and four points separate the two teams and Monaco will fancy their chances of reducing the deficit.

Sebastien Pocognoli’s side have won four of their last five and are unbeaten during that time, while they have only lost one of their eight in all competitions.

Away from home, they have avoided defeat in four consecutive games, and they were victorious on their last visit to the Groupama Stadium.

Lyon were beaten 2-0 by Celta Vigo on Thursday and were dumped out of the Europa League in the process, and with morale expected to be low, Monaco can take full advantage.

Gareth Freeman

St Pauli vs Freiburg – St Pauli win at 17/10 with bet365

If St Pauli are going to avoid finishing in the Bundesliga’s bottom three they need to make the most of their remaining home games and Sunday’s visit of Freiburg looks a winnable assignment for the Hamburg club.

The Kiezkicker are on a six-game unbeaten run at home, with three wins, and that streak has included a victory over Stuttgart and a draw with Leipzig.

Freiburg have little left to play for in the league and they’ve had a quick turnaround here after a midweek Europa League game. They’ve also been poor on their travels all season with eight defeats in 13 Bundesliga trips, and they have six defeats and no wins in their last eight away across all competitions.

St Pauli are the team in greater need, and they look good value to pick up a crucial win in their battle against the drop.

Aaron Rogan

Braga vs Porto – Both teams to score at 19/20 with bet365

Porto’s charge to the Portuguese title has been built on a strong defence, but they have conceded in visits to Sporting and Benfica this season. The Dragons were 2-1 winners when they hosted Braga this term, and the leaders head into this weekend having scored in 25 of their 26 Primeira Liga matches to date.

Hosts Braga have notched 27 goals in 12 home games, and they’ve found the net in each of their previous 10 league assignments. The hosts do have an edge here, as they cruised to a 4-0 win over Ferencvaros on Wednesday afternoon, with Porto playing Stuttgart over 24 hours later.

Braga have scored 17 times across their last five home matches, netting in 14 consecutive home games across all competitions. However, Porto have scored in each of their league trips this term, so back both tems to find the net.
