Jamie Griffith

Sporting vs Benfica – Benfica to win at 8/5 with bet365

Ruben Amorim’s departure from Sporting has seen them win just one of their last four league games and relinquish their lead at the top of the Primeira Liga.

Joao Pereira struggled to get the same tune out of the side as his predecessor and has already been replaced by Rui Borges, but he could be set for a difficult first derby against Benfica, who could open up a four-point lead on their rivals with a win.

Benfica have only lost to Bayern Munich in their last ten away games and they are unbeaten in nine matches, suggesting they should have too much for their faltering hosts.

Tom McGarry

Dundee United vs Aberdeen – Dundee United to win at 5/4 with bet365

Aberdeen looked like they were emerging as genuine Scottish Premiership title contenders after winning 10 of their opening 11 league games, but their challenge has derailed in spectacular fashion over recent weeks.

The Boxing Day 4-0 loss at Kilmarnock means Jimmy Thelin’s side are now winless in seven, picking up just three points during that time, and they now face another tricky away fixture at Dundee United.

Jim Goodwin’s hosts are exceeding expectations this season, sitting fourth, and they are unbeaten on home soil since October, claiming a notable 0-0 draw with runaway leaders Celtic in their last fixture at Tannadice.

Ian Wilkerson

Charlton vs Wycombe – Wycombe at 7/5 with bet365

Charlton have won their last two League One games against Northampton and Cambridge, but both of those victories were against teams in the bottom five, so promotion-chasing Wycombe should provide a much tougher test.

The Addicks have flattered to deceive on many occasions this season and Nathan Jones’s boys could come unstuck against a team who have not lost since falling to leaders Birmingham at the end of August.

Matt Bloomfield’s Chairboys have dropped just four points in their last ten games on the road, and have scored eight more goals than any other outfit in the third tier, so this could prove a big wake-up call for those expecting playoff hopefuls Charlton to end the year on a high.

Alex Hilton

Crystal Palace vs Southampton – Palace win to nil at 9/5 with bet365

Crystal Palace are edging their way up the Premier League following their slow start to the campaign, and they can improve their situation with a comfortable win over sorry Southampton.

The Saints are marooned at the bottom of the table with just one win from 18 matches.

They were the slightly better side despite losing 1-0 to West Ham on Boxing Day but a failure to take their chances proved costly and it is something that has plagued them all season.

The St Mary’s side have scored just 11 times this term and they have fired a blank on eight occasions, so failing to score at Selhurst Park on Sunday looks highly likely.

Palace looked solid in their 0-0 draw at highflying Bournemouth on Thursday and their last two meetings with Southampton were won 2-0 and 1-0, so back them to make it three in a row this week.

Joe Casey

Hibs vs Kilmarnock – Hibs at 17/20 with bet365

Hibs have turned their season around with three wins in a row, including a 2-1 success against their rivals Hearts last time out.

They can make it four on the spin when they host Kilmarnock, who have been solid this season but are much worse on the road than they are at home.

Killie have lost six of their 11 away games and have been a touch fortunate to draw their last two 1-1.

Dwight Gayle has burst back into life for the Hibees, netting twice and registering two assists in his last five games and he could be crucial to a home win.

Alex Wrigley

Rio Ave vs Nacional – Rio Ave to win at 23/20 with bet365

Just three points separates these sides in the Portuguese Primeira Liga but Nacional are yet to win away from home this season and have taken just three points from a possible 24 on their travels.

The visitors have failed to score in five of their eight trips, while Rio Ave are unbeaten at Estadio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube, winning three and drawing four of their seven league assignments in front of their own fans.
