Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace – Crystal Palace or draw double chance @ 10/11 with bet365

Crystal Palace took care of business in the Conference League playoff round, overcoming Fredrikstad 1-0 on aggregate, and they can round off a productive week by avoiding defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

The Eagles are having to move forward without Eberechi Eze and will probably be happy to see the end of the transfer window.

But they remain fully focused and have put in a pair of decent league performances, drawing 0-0 at Chelsea and 1-1 at home to Nottingham Forest.

Oliver Glasner has built a strong side and he can lead them to another positive result against Aston Villa, who have some issues to address after last Saturday’s dismal 1-0 loss at Brentford.

Jamie Griffith

Cologne vs Freiburg – Freiburg to win @ at 9/5 with bet365

Cologne made a triumphant return to the Bundesliga with a 1-0 win at Mainz on the opening weekend but they were aided by a 60th-minute red card for the hosts and they may not be so lucky against Freiburg.

Breisgau-Brasilianer suffered a shock 3-1 loss to Augsburg in their opener but they won the expected-goals battle 2.60-1.34 and also had a strike disallowed.

Freiburg finished fifth last season, have lost just four of their last 17 games and have an excellent manager in Julian Schuster, so take them to bounce back at promoted Cologne.

Aaron Ashley

Liverpool vs Arsenal – Arsenal or draw double chance @ 8/13 with bet365

While champions Liverpool have collected six points from their opening two games, there has been more than a sense of fortune to their perfect start and this looks like the time to take them on against title rivals Arsenal.

The Reds needed two late goals to see off Bournemouth 4-2 in their Premier League opener at Anfield while they relied on an injury-time strike to record a 3-2 victory at Newcastle, who played the whole second half with ten men yet still had Arne Slot’s side firmly on the ropes.

Arsenal are also two from two, having claimed clean sheets against Manchester United and Leeds, and they have the attacking resources to truly exploit a Liverpool side that are still bedding in their influx of new summer signings.

Gareth Freeman

Las Palmas vs Malaga – Las Palmas to win @ 4/5 with bet365

Las Palmas dropped down from La Liga last season and they should be among the title contenders in the second tier. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Andorra in their opener, but showed their class with a 3-1 win at Cordoba last weekend.

A home game against poor travellers Malaga looks like a very winnable assignment for Las Palmas as they look to continue their unbeaten start. The visitors finished in 16th spot last season and are probably a lower mid-table outfit once again. Malaga claimed just two wins in 21 attempts on their travels in the league last season and this trip to a team who should be pushing for automatic promotion looks a big ask.

Los Albicelestes had to dig deep to grind out a 1-0 home win over promoted Real Sociedad B last week and a similar level of display won’t be enough for any points at Las Palmas. The hosts should win this one fairly easily and at 4/5 they look a solid home win pick this weekend.

Aaron Rogan

Nottingham Forest vs West Ham – Nottingham Forest to win and over 2.5 goals @ 7/4 with bet365

West Ham’s 3-2 defeat at Wolves in midweek continued their woeful start to the season. The Hammers have now lost three from three, shipping 11 goals across those defeats.

Nottingham Forest are odds-on for the points after starting their season with a 3-1 home win against Brentford. For all the issues surrounding Forest off the pitch, they’ve made a bright start and they’ve made significant signings in attacking areas. Back them to comfortably see off West Ham, with over 2.5 goals in the game.
