Stoke City vs Preston North End – Preston to win at 13/5 with bet365
Six defeats in their last eight games has derailed Stoke City’s promotion push and they could be in for further disappointment when welcoming in-form Preston North End to the bet365 Stadium.
The Lilywhites are on a six-match unbeaten run, collecting 10 points during this period, while they have suffered just one defeat from their last 11 fixtures to help them climb to fifth in the Championship table.
Preston have the joint fourth-best away record in the division and they have not lost at Stoke on their last seven trips, winning five times and keeping six clean sheets.
Ian Wilkerson
Birmingham vs Derby – Derby or draw double chance at 19/20 with bet365
Birmingham stormed to the League One title last year, but they have found life in the Championship a lot tougher and a Boxing Day victory over Derby cannot be regarded as a formality.
Blues fans would have wished for more than just a season of consolidation following promotion and while they are unbeaten in their last five league games at St Andrews, the visiting Rams should provide a difficult test.
No Championship team has collected more points in their last eight away matches than John Eustace’s side, and they have won on four of the last five occasions they have been on their travels.
Buoyed on by a 3-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday in their last away game, they have recovered well from winning just one of their opening ten encounters, and they can get something from their trip to the Second City.

Manchester United vs Newcastle United – Both teams to score at 8/15 with bet365
An entertaining game is expected at Old Trafford in the only Premier League game on Boxing Day. Manchester United have only kept one clean sheet in their 17 Premier League outings this season, while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have conceded in 10 consecutive matches in all competitions.
Ruben Amorim’s team have seen at least three goals scored in eight of their last 10 games, while over 2.5 goals has landed in nine of Newcastle’s previous 10 outings.
Neither side has shown they can defend with any conviction and this should be an end-to-end battle from start to finish.
Aaron Ashley
Norwich vs Charlton – Norwich at 21/20 with bet365
Norwich find themselves second from bottom in the Championship but there have been clear signs of progress from Philippe Clement’s Canaries since the end of November and they have lost only one of their last six matches.
Norwich would have been frustrated to have conceded an injury-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Preston last time out but they have won back-to-back home league games against QPR and Southampton and can overcome the challenge of Charlton.
The Addicks snapped a six-game winless run with a 1-0 victory over Oxford on Saturday but they have won only one of their last eight away matches and could be set for more road misery at Carrow Road.
Aaron Rogan
Anderlecht vs Charleroi – Anderlecht to win and both teams to score at 3/1 with bet365
Anderlecht have the second-best home record in Belgium’s top flight, winning seven of their first 10 games. The host Charleroi having won six straight home games in the league, while their impressive return comes despite not having hosted any of the league’s bottom five teams.
Their opponents are struggling towards the foot of the table, with an awful away record behind them. Charleroi have lost six of nine away trips, including five defeats in six clashes at sides above them.
However, Charleroi have scored nine times across their nine trips. They meet an Anderlecht side who concede chances, even at home, so back the visitors to score in another defeat.
Gareth Freeman
Blackpool vs Doncaster – Blackpool to win at 7/5 with bet365
It took a little while for Blackpool to click under former defender Ian Evatt but they have found some form and look good value for a vital win against relegation rivals Doncaster on Boxing Day.
The Seasiders have put together a four-game unbeaten run and showed great spirit to battle back from 2-0 down to take a point against high-flying Lincoln in their last game at Bloomfield Road, indeed they perhaps could have nicked all three on the balance of play.
Blackpool won 2-0 at Wigan last time out and should be able to follow that up by beating Doncaster.
Donny have been poor on the road all season with six defeats in 10 trips. Rovers are on a three-game losing run and have shipped an alarming 13 goals across those fixtures, so Blackpool should be able to pick up the points here.
