Post: Doncaster Place 6 preview | 8th February

12.55 – SBK Maiden Hurdle
Jagwar disappointed last time out when only fifth, and preference instead goes to the Olly Murphy-trained LONG DRAW, who made a promising start to his hurdle career when keeping on for third at Taunton and is the solid choice to make the frame with more to offer.
Tips: LONG DRAW
13.30 – SBK Handicap Chase
NOT AT PRESENT has won four times over hurdles, and while he fell on his return at Newbury, this is easier, and he could go well granted a clear round. PEEJAYBEE is very well handicapped on the pick of his hurdles form and is feared most, while GOOD WORK is another to merit consideration for place purposes.
Tips: NOT AT PRESENT, PEEJAYBEE, GOOD WORK
14.05 – SBK Junior ‘National Hunt’ Hurdle
KNIGHT OF ALLEN finished runner-up to a subsequent winner at listed level at Aintree a couple of months ago and should be difficult to beat in this significantly easier race. Ben Pauling’s WRECKLESS ERIC showed promise when second on his hurdles debut and is the main threat on paper, with more to come.
Tips: KNIGHT OF ALLEN, WRECKLESS ERIC
14.40 – SBK Handicap Hurdle
PENTLAND HILLS won the Triumph Hurdle five years ago and proved he retains most of his ability when a close-up second over C&D when last spotted. He is interesting back over fences with a conditional claiming 5Ib, while JIPCOT ran well when third over fences last time and is back over hurdles from a low weight and handy mark.
Tips: PENTLAND HILLS, JIPCOT
15.15 – SBK Mares’ Handicap Hurdle
KAY TARA TARA is proving really consistent and returned a very good second over C&D when last seen. She should be competitive, while GILBERTINA is another who ran well when second over C&D and has a good chance if she is able to repeat that performance here.
Tips: KAY TARA TARA, GILBERTINA
15.50 – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase
BETTERFOREVERYONE improved a lot from his two previous chase starts when runner-up here last time and has been left on the same mark. I think he has a good chance, but I’ll cover SIGURD who isn’t badly treated now, and Brian Hughes does the low weight. He cannot be ruled out at massive odds.
Tips: BETTERFOREVERYONE, SIGURD
