Canadian Grand Prix Betting Tips – CopyBet
Refreshed from a two-week break, the Formula 1 teams head across the Atlantic for the Canadian Grand Prix, the 10th round of the 2025 world championship.
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal is a popular and demanding track, with long periods of full throttle but also some tight corners. Attacking the kerbs is rewarded with a fast lap, but push it too far and you end up in one of the concrete walls that line most of the circuit.
McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were at the peak of their dominance in Spain last time and arrived in Canada as hot favourites. Piastri leads the championship chase by 10 points, but his team-mate Norris has collected the most points over the last three races.
Between them the pair have won seven of this year’s nine races, with five wins for Piastri and two for Norris, but there is rarely much between them.
After winning the season opener in Australia, Briton Norris lost ground in the following races thanks to making costly errors in qualifying, but he has been much tidier on recent Saturdays.
His pole lap at Monaco will have given him confidence heading to another circuit where mistakes are punished harshly, and Norris was in contention for victory in Canada last year despite his team’s strategy not working out when weather conditions changed.
Championship leader Piastri heads the betting and understandably so after his polished effort in Barcelona last time, but Norris is getting his act together and could be the better bet at the prices.
Memories are short in Formula 1 and having started the year as world champion Max Verstappen’s team-mate at the senior Red Bull team, Liam Lawson is in danger of becoming a footnote to the season.
Demoted from Red Bull after just two races, Lawson has since driven for the junior Racing Bulls team, where he has been outshone by his team-mate Isack Hadjar.
Confidence is crucial for an F1 driver and Lawson’s has taken a battering this year, but the New Zealander has been showing better form in the last couple of races.
He executed his team’s strategy perfectly at Monaco to play his part in securing Racing Bulls their first double points finish of the season. The following weekend, Lawson was in contention for more points in Barcelona, ultimately just missing out in 11th place after a number of wheel-banging battles with his midfield rivals.
Hadjar is proving that the car is capable of fighting consistently in the front half of the field, and a bet on Lawson to finish in the top 10 should provide plenty of entertainment.
