Post: Aintree Win 6 preview | 12th April

13.45 Huyton Asphalt Franny Blennerhassett Memorial Mildmay Novices’ Chase
The JP McManus pair are the two I like in the opener. Kim Muir winner INOTHEWAYURTHINKIN was ridden with extreme confidence last time out and must have a great chance with a similar performance. IROKO should do a lot better than last month and is a noticeable danger.
Tips: Inothewayurthinkin, Iroko
14.20 William Hill Handicap Hurdle
KATEIRA’s second in a Grade 1 C&D race last year at this meeting is the standout piece of form, and she should be going close with a handicap mark of 136. JANGO BAIE was only beaten half a length when second in a Grade 2 race last time out, and the Tolworth Hurdle winner should be competitive. SONIGINO ran well when he finished third in this last year and is an outsider to consider.
Tips: Kateira, Jango Baie, Sonigino
14.55 TrustATrader Top Novices’ Hurdle
FIREFOX didn’t get the best of runs when third in the Supreme and might be worth another chance, while MYSTICAL POWER, who was a place in front of him, is the obvious threat and must be included.
Tips: Firefox, Mystical Power
15.30 My Pension Expert Melling Chase
PROTEKTORAT will love the ground and produced a classy performance to win the Ryanair Chase last time out. He is a dual-course winner and should be competitive. EASY GAME has an excellent win ratio and has been saved for this race since his last success. He won’t mind the ground and could outrun his odds. The favourite, JONBON, can also be shortlisted.
Tips: Protektorat, Easy Game, Jonbon
16.05 Randox Supports Race Against Dementia Topham Handicap Chase
JAMES DU BERLAIS has been running consistently all season, and these fences and this trip look absolutely perfect for him. He is partnered by Paul Townend and must have a serious chance of winning this. YOUR DARLING has been trained for the race and represents a bang-in-form team, while LIFE IN THE PARK could also figure.
Tips: James Du Berlais, Your Darling, Life In The Park
16.40 Cavani Sartorial Menswear Sefton Novices’ Hurdle
THE JUKEBOX MAN made a brave effort from the front when narrowly denied in the Albert Bartlett last month and should be better suited to this flat track. He has loads more to come; he will handle the conditions without any issue and should be the clear favourite. Ben Pauling’s charge can take the festival’s penultimate race. SHANAGH BOB is unbeaten in two starts and is feared most.
Tips: The Jukebox Man, Shanagh Bob
