Pisa vs Udinese – Udinese to win at 7/4 with bet365

Fresh from winning at Inter Milan before the international break, Udinese can follow up with another away success, this time at newly promoted Pisa, who are yet to win since returning to the top flight.

Udinese were good value for their victory at the San Siro, coming from behind to triumph 2-1, and their extra know-how at the highest level should see them overcome a Pisa side that are back in Serie A for the first time in 34 years.

Pisa have been competitive so far, drawing at Atlanta before being edged out on home soil by Roma, but their wait for a first league win looks set to go on.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Werder Bremen – Werder Bremen or draw double chance at 4/5 with bet365

These Bundesliga rivals have both taken one point from their first two league fixtures, but that’s about where the similarities end. Gladbach’s two games have produced just a solitary goal whereas there have been 11 in Bremen’s games against Frankfurt and Leverkusen. The visitors will need to tighten up at the back going forwards – seven of those 11 goals have been in their net – but they have at least shown that they possess an attacking threat, something which cannot be said about goalless Gladbach.

St Truiden vs Westerlo – St Truiden to win at 1/1 with bet365

St Truiden narrowly avoided last season’s relegation play-off in the Belgian top flight, but they have built a good foundation to avoid the same fate this term, claiming a massive 14 points from their opening six games to leave them second in the standings.

They have won all three home games by an aggregate scoreline of 7-2, and they look good value to beat a Westerlo side that have lost both Jupiler League away days this term, conceding nine goals in the process.

St Truiden have won four of their last five meetings with Westerlo, and they can extend their fantastic start to the campaign on Sunday.

Rennes vs Lyon – Lyon to win at 8/5 with bet365

Lyon have yet to concede in Ligue 1 wins over Lens, Metz and Marseille and they should be able to build on that strong foundation by claiming another three points at Rennes.

OL needed a late own goal before they got over the line against ten-men Marsielle before the international break but Paulo Fonseca’s team posted an expected-goals (xG) mark of 2.3 in that game so the margin of victory could have been more comprehensive.

Only Lille have a larger xG in the division than Lyon after three games and that looks bad news for Rennes, who have struggled since beating Marseille 1-0 in their opener.

They lost 4-0 to Lorient in their second outing and were then held to a draw by Angers, who scored just 24 goals in 34 top-flight outings last season.

Sporting Gijon vs Burgos – Gijon to win at 24/25 with bet365

Sporting Gijon’s perfect start to the season came to an end with a 1-0 defeat at La Coruna last time out but they can bounce back with three points against poor travellers Burgos on Sunday.

Gijon have won their last five home games going back into last season, and they did the league double over the visitors last term.

Burgos have three defeats and no wins in their last seven trips in a run stretching back to March and they’ve failed to score in four of those fixtures, so the home side should be able to pick up all three points here.

Aaron Rogan

Barcelona vs Valencia – Both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365

Barcelona’s return to the Camp Nou has been delayed, forcing this clash to be held at the 6,000-seat home of their youth side. That should make the trip less daunting for Valencia, as will the fact that Barca have conceded 3.99 xG across their last two league games.

Levante scored twice, posting 2.14 xG, against Barca in gameweek two, despite having just 18% of possession. Barca’s last game saw them lose the xG battle 1.85 to 1.83 in a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.

Barca’s defensive issues are mounting. Playing this fixture in front of a heavily reduced crowd takes away their home advantage, but they remain too strong going forward for Valencia to stop.
