Friday’s European Football Accumulator Tips
The Bundesliga usually delivers entertainment and with both of these sides in with a shout of European qualification for next season, this fixture should be no different. Mainz have seen 56 goals across their 19 Bundesliga games (2.94 per game) whilst Werder Bremen have seen 69 goals across their 19 assignments in the German top division (3.63 per game).
Werder Bremen have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions, a record that includes their 2-2 draw with Dortmund last time out. Mainz’s games on the road tend to be particularly goal-heavy, with 32 of the 56 goals they’ve seen in their Bundesliga games coming away from home.
The initial meeting between these sides earlier in the season ended 2-1 to Werder Bremen, both sides posted respectable xG’s (1.13-2.06) and there were 10 shots on target – as well as 4 big chances in the game. This suggests that this meeting will be just as eventful with a lot of metrics lining up nicely to see goals in this one.
Montpellier are fighting for their lives at the bottom of Ligue 1, Jean-Louis Gasset’s side currently sit 17th in the table, 3 points off of safety. They welcome a Lens side that is enjoying a far better campaign, a win can take them into the European positions with the race very tight at both sides of the table.
Montpellier’s better performances have come at home this season, if they are going to stay up, their games at home will be very important. They’ve scored 15 goals across their 10 home games compared to just the 5 across their 9 away games. However, Montpellier still struggle to keep the opposition out on home turf, with 23 goals conceded across their 10 games (2.3 per game), a figure comparable to the 21 they’ve conceded across their 9 away assignments (2.33 per game).
Lens have been competitive in the majority of their away games this season, avoiding defeat in 8 of their 9 trips this campaign scoring 13 goals and conceding 8. With both sides having plenty to fight for and Montpellier’s slightly better performance levels at home we should see chances at both ends resulting in BTTS having a solid chance of landing in this one.
The relegation battle is heating up in Serie A and these 2 sides are right at the heat of it. Parma and Lecce are level on points and only separated by goal difference as we enter the second half of the Serie A season. A win for either side would be massive in the context of the relegation battle with just 2 points separating Lecce in 18th and Como in 13th, but this game more has the makings of a must not lose as opposed to a must win for both sides.
Neither of these defences can be trusted, with Parma conceding 39 goals and Lecce conceding 40 goals across their 22 assignments this season, but what does stand out is Parma’s significantly superior firepower compared to their opponents. Parma have scored almost double the number of goals Lecce have in Serie A this season (28-15), Lecce are the lowest scorers in the division which could prove costly.
Parma have avoided defeat in 6 of their 11 games at home this season, by contrast Lecce have only managed to win 2 of their 11 games on the road this campaign. Once again, Lecce’s poor record in front of goal stands out – they’ve only scored 6 goals across these 11 fixtures, conceding 19.
Neither of these sides can be backed with confidence to get a win, but what Parma have over their opponents in attacking areas should prove crucial here, making the double chance market a decent selection for this Friday evening encounter.
