❓Top Gameweek 23 Differentials (<15%)

🇳🇱 Justin Kluivert – Bournemouth (£5.6m, 5.4%)

Fresh off his second hat-trick of the season, it’s no surprise that the current most transferred in player for GW23 (over 250,000) is first on our differential list. Few could have predicted his haul against the in-from Newcastle away at St James’ Park, but he certainly has more suitors now. Even though Kluivert scored a hat-trick earlier in the season (GW13 v Wolves) and has hit an average of 5.1 points per match, he has largely gone under the radar. The cheap midfielders are currently the most in demand and toughest in which to choose, but perhaps Kluivert tickles your tastebuds?

Through watching him this season, he has certainly passed the ‘eye test’, is involved in 0.61 expected goal involvements (xGI) per 90mins and has the FPL points to back it up. Many have moved early as next he plays Southampton and Wolves, but his next two games are tougher fixtures versus an in-form Nottingham Forest and league leaders Liverpool. If your squad is well balanced to bench him here or there then get him, if not and you require to play him in all of his next 5, then think deeper before pulling the trigger.

🇧🇪 Leandro Trossard – Arsenal (£6.8m, 2%)

It’s Trossard time ! Each season, there is always a period in which Leandro comes to the forefront and is a great selection in FPL. Due to Trossard not being a starter in a fully fit Arsenal side, his emergence usually comes when injuries arise, and this season is no different. With the long term absentee of Saka, Trossard is stepping up to the plate with a goal and 2x assists in his last two games (9 & 10 points). So far this season he has 4 goals and 5 assists, but his previous seasons record suggests he has much more room to grow with scoring no less than 8 goals in his last three seasons.

It’s Wolves, Leicester and West Ham in the next four games and you know what I see team don’t you… Opportunity. With Saka not back till after these matches I am very bullish on Trossard starting all three and possibly returning in them all. At only 2% owned, it could be a great way to make up ground in your mini league.

🇺🇾 Darwin Nunez- Liverpool (£7m, 1.9%)

With two goals and all 3 bonus points in his last match, Darwin has his highest GW points tally of the season so far (11 points). The importance of these goals not only for him personally but also Liverpool in the title race could be immense, and I have an inkling this could kick start his season. Darwin at times is a great player to watch but it’s his inconsistency that often lets him down.

Yes, he is a minutes risk but with a great set of upcoming fixtures, he could be a great addition for your third Liverpool player in order to attack the double game week against Bournemouth and Everton. I foresee Darwin being afforded a start v Ipswich at home. Slot has challenged him to prove he is elite and with Jota out injured again, he could finally prove his £85 million price tag. Could it finally be Darwin time?

🇧🇷  Alisson Becker – Liverpool (£5.5m, 7.4%)

The second of our Liverpool players this week, in preparation for double game week 24. Past Salah’s obvious inclusion its difficult to choose the correct other Liverpool player, with the great degree of rotation in which Slot likes to wield. This is why Alisson is a good pick, he won’t be rotated. With 2.33 saves per 90 mins he often gets extra points for saves and therefore a higher chance of bonus points but it’s another stat I’m more interested in.

11 goals conceded from only 8.99 expected goals against (XgA) suggests to me Becker has been unlucky so far and is on course for greater points hauls, in particularly over the next few GW’s. His ownership will grow this week and with Liverpool closing in on the title, I expect the defence to tighten up, a byproduct of which is the ability to then hold Alisson for the reminder of the season. Our first thought is often always outfield players, but perhaps it’s the slightly boring defensive picks we also need to consider.

🇯🇵 Kaoru Mitoma- Brighton (£6.3m, 5%)

This is one that is a feels or ‘vibe’ pick. Though he has picked up double digit hauls in both of his last two matches, Brighton are still hard to trust for results and goals. With the midfielder pool being the most contested area in which to choose players from, I do concede that there are currently better players to select. That being said, Mitoma has caught the eye and with Everton to come next, it could be three hauls in a row.

Now with having the ability to hold up to 5 free transfers, you may have a few currently burning a hole in your pocket. If you do, then Mitoma is a great differential this week and ready to boost you up the rankings if he performs well. If however though your strapped at only one or two available, then probably let this one slide.
